2. How long have you been making websites?
Created my first site in October 2023.
3. And what got you into the hobby?
A friend recommended neocities, which led to the creation of duskytel 1.0.
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?
I like websites with jaded webmasters with html/css pet peeves so I can learn from them.
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?
I find a category I want to add and adjust from there: content first -> layout later.
6. Please link your biggest inspirations.

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?
Creating cool effects with CSS.
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?
CSS.
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?
Overall it's the same. If not, I follow a mental outline for what would navigate well.
10. How confident are you with CSS?
I can make a functional website with it.
11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?
Yes.
12. What is your favourite HTML element?
<hr> is a guilty pleasure.
13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?
Find the purpose -> draw a general layout on paper
14. Do you know JavaScript?
A little.

A little more.
16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?
Yes (two).
17. Are you more focused on content or design?
Both but quality of design is probably better than what I write.
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?
Yes.
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?
I think they are cute, but some sacrifice usability for "the look".
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?
I try.
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?
I don't use them right now, but I don't mind seeing them if they aren't eyebleeding colors.
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?
I would personally put them on another page if there are animations.
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?
I would make a similar website (for hobbies) but add code comments for myself.
24. Are you envious of other people's websites?
No.

I like the extensions.

Web server.

I don't care.

less than 100 mb.

Always.

I typically prefer simple websites.
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?
Yes, I use variables for every text/div color.
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?
No.
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?
No webmaster friends.
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?
Yes.
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?
One big update a year with blog updates every now and again.

I've changed the overall design a couple times due to my preferences changing.
38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?
Hobby-focused.

No.

I've considered it for commission work.

No.

Yes.

Instant messengers are best for 1-1 messaging and receiving announcements in bigger groups.
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?
Yes, I listen to anything I'm into at the moment.
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?
I keep this website for everything personal, and a separate website for portfolio work.
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?
Many.
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?
It's impossible to present my real self in a public space but I don't try to create a persona. I keep myself private on this site.

No.
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?
Yes but it could be more clean
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?
I don't like absolute positioning.
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?
I always add links that redirect back to the parent/index html, something I like seeing on other sites as well when I'm navigating.
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?
Probably not as much as I should.

I test my website on Firefox and Safari.
54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.
Firefox because it's the best.

It works for my needs.

Yes, but it's not the best for reading longer paragraphs.

I've seen them around but I don't really know what they are.

Kind of. I like to see shrines that are less of a dictionary and include more opinions, especially for topics that are well known.
61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?
I take inspiration from other personal websites, so it could be considered cliche.
62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?
I'm striving for a website that can survive any aspect ratio.

Yes. Everything on this website is photographed/drawn by me unless otherwise credited.

Experimenting in my files and forgetting to delete code that was scrapped.

Write down comments in your code.

I keep it all in .css files, but some relics of hard coded styling probably survived in my older files.
68. What do you think of frameset layouts?
It's deprecated, shouldn't be used.

Also deprecated.
70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?
I think my layout is three-columns but I didn't think of it that way when I was making the site. My opinion is that thinking this way could potentially be limiting to what a website can be.
71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?
CSS.
72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.
No, custom fonts make it easier to read anyways.
73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?
I don't make layouts unless I have a vision for the content I want to put on the website.

Intermediate.

I check sometimes.

W3schools and looking at source code of other websites.

Not the best but I'm guilty of using it...

I default to rem.

I would create a website for someone, not with.

Not very often, I usually go out of my way to find new websites when I'm editing my own website.

I bookmark others' websites if I like what they have to say. My jaw would drop if someone bookmarked mine.

The effort.

I have a small collection of cd players, laptops, consoles.

Yes. I've done sql database stuff with php.

I think people who use them are cool. I downloaded 11ty but I didn't get very far.

I used to, but it was more of a gimmick than anything.

I write it into the editor, but sometimes I'll paste writing that hasn't been published.

Sometimes, but I delete old things usually out of privacy/accessibility concerns.

I would keep an archive.

I reveal myself through my writing, but I don't go out of my way to talk about myself.
